OMG! People treat me the same way when I tell them I was divorced without alimony as a 30-yr SAHM.

When I tried to explain this phenomenon — that even though something is supposed to work one way, that doesn’t mean it will work that way — they would dig in their heels. People don’t like to hear this, and they insisted that I must have been explaining myself wrong to the bank, or to the insurance company, or to the assisted living facility.
